Almost all garden centres in the Netherlands sell Artstone pots. In addition to garden centres, there are also specialist shops, florists, shops and DIY centres that have included us in their assortment. Here you can find a list of points of sale and discover which shop is closest to you. If you want to order online, check our list of webshops.

All our pots are made with recycled plastic and natural rock powder. The ratio varies per series. These substances are mixed and sprayed into a mould. The structure created by the spraying process means that every pot is slightly different. The result is a unique pot, unrivalled in its strength and design.

We can be brief about that: ‘Yes!’ The term sustainability has several meanings for us. The basis is making a reliable, future-proof and beautiful product made from responsible raw materials. An Artstone pot is made with the future in mind. You can see and feel that. All our pots are made from recycled plastic and stone powder, and they are also fully recyclable. Artstone pots also have our own unique drainage system. A sustainable system that contributes positively to problem-free and enjoyable gardening, not to mention the lifespan of plants. We would like to emphasise this, because we have noticed that the focus in the conversation about sustainability is usually on the material of the flower pot. Understandable, but isn’t it really about nature? We promise that we will not lose sight of the health of the plants. Plants live longer in an Artstone pot!

Artstone pots have a special drainage system to make planting and caring for plants as easy as possible. The drainage system is Artstone’s own creation and development, and is truly unique! The system has multiple functions and is integrated into the pot, making it invisible. It is a far cry from the old-fashioned saucer under the flower pot!

Reservoir

Do you give your plants too much water? No problem, because the excess water ends up in the reservoir. This reservoir serves as a water storage. This way, thirsty roots can always drink.

Overflow

If there is really too much water in the pot, for example after a heavy rain shower, the overflow will come to the rescue. As soon as the reservoir is completely filled with water, the water will not flow back into the pot, but will flow away via the overflow.

Plug

Do you use an Artstone pot indoors? Make sure the plug is properly in the ground and be careful when watering. Before placing an Artstone pot outside, always remove the plug from the ground. This protects the plant from root rot and makes the pot completely frost-resistant. Wow!

It works, but something is probably going wrong. Artstone’s drainage system works perfectly if you follow these tips:

Tip 1: Potting

Remove the plant from the nursery pot and pot it with hydro grains and potting soil directly in the Artstone pot. See below. A plant with a nursery pot in the pot cannot have its roots near the built-in water reservoir!

Tip 2: Indoors

Do you use the pot inside? Press the plug firmly into the ground and be careful when watering. You can play it completely safe by placing a matching, trendy saucer under the pot.

Tip 3: Outside

If you use the pot outside, remove the plug from the ground to allow for proper drainage and allow excess water to drain away. Store the plug carefully. Then you can place the plant inside during the winter if you want.

To keep your pot and plant as strong and beautiful as possible, we recommend this potting method for both indoor and outdoor use. For outdoor use, remove the plug from the ground.

  • Fill the pot about 1/3 or 1/4 full with hydro grains. This ensures good drainage.
  • Fill the pot with the right potting soil and plant.
  • Press the plant firmly and water.

No, Artstone pots are colourfast. Our pots do not discolour due to UV radiation or direct sunlight. What they do do in sunlight and any other light is to play with the incidence of light, so that your pot looks different every time and always surprises you.

An Artstone pot is lightweight and therefore easy to move. It looks particularly heavy, which is due to the special synthetic stone mix it is made of. A small Artstone pot weighs almost nothing, about 200 grams, while a large Artstone pot, for example 90 cm high, weighs 7 kilos. So it is mainly the soil and the plant in the pot that determine the weight. Due to the weight in the pot, especially in the larger pots, we recommend that you always use both hands to lift pots by the bottom. Never move pots by pulling on the edge.

An Artstone pot is resistant to all weather conditions and, in principle, cannot freeze to death. But then of course you have to use the pot the right way. Always pot a plant according to our potting method. You can read about it above.

As a buyer/customer, you should always submit warranty and damage issues to the relevant point of sale, the shop where you bought the product. A point of sale is responsible for the sale of their products and further communication with the consumer about this, i.e. you. As a supplier, we cannot and do not want to interfere in this. Every request is different and our experience is that retailers handle this very carefully. The point of sale then communicates with us (the supplier) about the possible replacement of a product. It’s as simple as that!

Of course, reporting damage and invoking the warranty has a few conditions:

  • You have treated the pot according to these guidelines on the sticker. The seller can determine whether this is the case.
  • You have potted the plant according to our potting method. See above.
  • Always move a pot by lifting it. Do not lift or pull the edge. The weight in the pot can cause it to break.
  • Always take the receipt with you to prove that you bought the pot there.
  • Take the pot (or good photos of it) back to the shop where you bought it and clearly show what the problem is.
